William Andrew Inc. has published the first two titles in its new series, Micro & Nano Technologies (MNT). This bold new collection of titles is focused on disseminating practical information for both industry and academia.
“The mission statement of this series follows the same principle we have been publishing under for the past 20 years,” said Brent Beckley, Sales Director. “Practical information is our standard, and although theory is often necessary for background information, we remain focused on providing our audience with information they can directly apply to these enabling technologies.”
The first book in the series, Microdrops and Digital Microfluidics, explains the physics of microdrops and their application to MEMS, especially to microfluidics. Written by Jean Berthier, author of Microfluidics for Biotechnology, this book is an excellent reference for engineering, scientists, and developers in biotechnology, nanotechnology, MEMS, and pharmaceuticals.
The second book in the series, Micromixers: Fundamentals, Design, and Fabrication, discusses the basic science of mixing at the microscale and practical issues in the design, fabrication, and characterization of micromixers. Written by best-selling author Nam-Trung Nguyen of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, this book is for practicing engineers who need current and applicable knowledge.
Other books to be published in 2008 include:
- Hot Embossing: Theory and Technology of Microreplication
- Introduction to Quantum Information Processing (QIP)
- Nanotechnology Applications: Solutions for Improving Water Quality
- The Physics of Carbon Nanotube Devices
