The Lorain County
Manufacturing Council (LCMC) today announced the speaker line-up for the
2nd Annual Nanotechnology Manufacturer's Forum to be held October 4 at the
Spitzer Conference Center on the Lorain County Community College campus
(1005 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio) from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The one-day event
is designed to encourage collaboration between nanotechnology experts and
traditional manufacturers.
"We have an excellent line-up of experienced nanotechnology
professionals scheduled to speak to traditional manufacturers about the
benefits of nanotechnology," said John Butkowski, President of the Lorain
County Manufacturing Council. Butkowski continued, "Our goal for this forum
is really about education and awareness. It's important for manufacturers
to understand the benefits of nanotechnology."
The forum is directed to representatives of manufacturing companies,
including those who hold senior technical design and engineering positions;
new product and business development executives; manufacturing and
operations managers; materials scientists; mechanical engineers; marketing
and sales representatives; entrepreneurs; policy makers; technology
transfer specialists and economic development leaders. Those who attend
will gain an understanding of nanotechnology, learn how to make product and
process improvements, and learn about new market opportunities in the field
nanotechnology.
The 2006 Nanotechnology Manufacturer's Forum will address the following
topics:
- Nanotechnology 101 and consumer applications
- The status of nanotech commercialization in manufacturing
- Adding value to products through nanotechnology
- Nanotech commercialization: An Entrepreneur's Success Story
- Nanotechnology applications and trends in manufacturing
Speakers for the forum are invited executives from companies and
organizations leading the commercialization of nanotechnology. Confirmed
speakers at this time include:
