Jillian Elliott Presents Nanotechnology Roadmap at nanoTX 06

Jillian Elliott, president of Foresight Nanotech Institute, the leading think tank and public interest organization focused on nanotechnology, will speak on the International Technology Roadmap for Productive Nanosystems at nanoTX '06 on September 27, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.

In her presentation titled: "Atomically Precise Fabrication: The International Technology Roadmap to Productive Nanosystems," Elliott will discuss how the Roadmap will provide direction for scientists, business and individuals working to accelerate development of atomically precise manufacturing. She will also outline the four pathways to atomically-precise manufacturing as identified by the project's working group. This group consists of world-class scientists, engineers, business leaders and academics.

The four pathways addressed by the Roadmap for Productive Systems are: self-directed manipulation, machining (Feynman approach), bio synthesomes, and chemistry and materials science. The Roadmap for Productive Nanosystems will provide a view of the pathways and enabling technologies in a way that will help industries, companies and individuals plan the nanotechnology work they want to do in the future. The Roadmap committee is on schedule to release the Executive Summary of the Roadmap at the Foresight Conference in Spring 2007.

In addition to her presentation on The International Roadmap for Productive Nanosystems, Elliott will announce the winners of the 2006 Foresight Institute Feynman Prizes at the Exhibitor's Cocktail Reception on September 27, 2006 at nanoTX '06. The winners of these prestigious prizes will present their research to the conference on the following day, September 28, 2006, at 10 a.m.
