Nanolution, a Division of Biophan Technologies, Inc., will be presenting on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at 11:35 a.m. ET, at Windhover Information and Medtech Insight's "Investment in Innovation" event, taking place October 21-22, 2004 at the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston.
Biophan, a developer of next-generation biomedical technology, recently announced the formation of its new Nanolution division to focus on implementing discoveries in nanotechnology for the purposes of drug delivery and drug elution from device surfaces. This division will broaden the applications of Biophan's extensive intellectual property portfolio, extending it from MRI safety and compatibility of devices, into to the large and rapidly growing market for drug delivery and drug elution from devices.
The first application in development is the use of nanomagnetic materials developed as part of Biophan's research into improving the MRI visibility of devices. This is a further extension of the materials used in the development of Biophan's MRI contrast agent technology -- NanoView. The same custom-tuned nanomagnetic particles that are being developed as an MRI contrast agent also enable a unique level of control for drug delivery.
Further information regarding the nanomagnetic particle technology and its applications for drug delivery is provided on the company's website; select "Drug Delivery," either PowerPoint or HTML, at http://www.biophan.com/products.php .
